The perfect trial night: World Championship star Franzi Kadlec wins flawlessly in front of a record crowd at the 20th ADAC night trial in Uslar-Fürstenhagen /
1,200 spectators and optimal conditions at the fifth round of the German Championship

(Uslar-Fürstenhagen, 04 August 2019) It doesn’t get any better than this: With absolutely faultless driving, 22-year-old Franz Kadlec from Reichersbeuern won the 20th ADAC Night Trial of the MSC Weser-Solling in Uslar-Fürstenhagen. After a speedy ride over three times seven sections on the off-road terrain above Fürstenhagen, the TRRS pilot was the first driver in the history of the night trial, which has been running since 1986, to have zero faults on his points card.

Second in the fifth round of the German Championship was 22-year-old Max Faude from Sindelfingen ahead of Paul Reumschüssel (19) from Steinbach-Hallenberg. More than 1,200 spectators watched the trial run through Solling in dry conditions and pleasant temperatures. This is also a new night trial record.

“The many spectators and the great atmosphere here in Fürstenhagen are really unique in Germany”, said Kadlec with the cup of the city of Uslar in his hands. The current eighth-place finisher in the Trial World Championship traced his lines swiftly and with focus over the very technically designed and up to 1.80 meters high sandstone obstacles. When he came out of the first round shortly after 9 p.m. after not even 45 minutes of driving, there was still time for a self-confident statement: “Actually, I wanted to be finished by daylight,” said the Upper Bavarian, who has already won the night trial in 2015. Kadlec pointed out a special feature of the more than 30,000 watt floodlight: “The shadow play between rider, motorcycle and obstacle makes it difficult to correctly estimate the distance between the obstacles, especially when it gets dark”.

Only three times the runner-up Max Faude was wrong in the drive between light and shadow. “These were unnecessary mistakes, but after surviving injury I am nevertheless very satisfied with my return to the DM today,” said the Beta driver. The prospective automotive mechatronics engineer had torn a ligament during the World Championship round in Japan at the beginning of June and loudly motivated himself in Fürstenhagen to enter the sections with maximum focus.

Only one point behind Faude, Paul Reumschüssel finished third on his TRRS. “Top three was my dream goal today and I achieved it. There were small mistakes: Here one track didn’t quite fit and there I was a little bit off track, but still a great evening with a great audience”, said the student from Thuringia.
The team of the MSC Weser-Solling also drew an all around positive balance. For the first time in the 33-year history of the Night Trial it was all about DM-points. “We have provided a great stage for the German championship and as the most spectator-attractive trial of the year we have perhaps also brought the sport in Germany a little bit forward,” said Dietrich Siemon, First Chairman of MSC Weser-Solling. “The conditions with extremely grippy sections after the rain the day before were ideal. We prepared the terrain for half a year. After such an evening, every hour of work was worth it,” said Siemon, who at the same time thanked the approximately 100 helpers from MSC Weser-Solling, the Fürstenhagen Volunteer Fire Brigade, the German Red Cross Uslar and the Technical Relief Organisation from Bad Lauterberg.

Only the catering had to be adjusted, as the kitchen crew led by catering boss Diethelm Gerling had to recalibrate in view of the large spectator resonance. 1,000 fried sausages as well as 80 kilos of potatoes and 20 kilos of ham for the legendary potato pan at the clubhouse were not enough. In view of the rush of guests, which had already begun an hour and a half before the start of the night trial, the Ackerhans and Hellwig families from Fürstenhagen and Heisebeck, who are closely associated with the MSC, had to replenish their supplies at short notice.
